Upper Kedron bus service

  • June 2018, bus route 367 extended into the Ellendale development at Upper Kedron.
  • The extension connects the growing community to Ferny Grove rail station.

Cross River Rail tunnel geotechnical investigation

  • Borehole drilling identifies any soil, rock or other features that impact tunnelling or station construction as park of the early works program. 
  • 40 borehole test sites were completed in late-2017 over 50 locations.
  • Kangaroo Point was the deepest hole drilled going down 66m.

Veloway 1

  • 17km cycleway between Brisbane City and Eight Mile Plains, parallel to the Pacific Motorway.
  • Improves safety for cyclist and motorist by removing the need for cyclists to travel on the road.
  • Stage E—Birdwood Road at Holland Park West to Gaza Road at Tarragindi to commence shortly. 

Sumners Road interchange upgrade

  • Interchange upgrade will include increase of traffic capacity, signalised intersections at end of bridge, safer pedestrian and cyclist facilities including dedicated crossings.
  • $65 million project. 

Ipswich Motorway Upgrade

  • $400 million jointly funded project will improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and improve flood immunity by building new bridges over Oxley Creek along Ipswich Motorway–Rocklea to Darra. 

Gateway Upgrade North

  • $1.143 billion jointly funded project to improve safety for over 83,000 vehicles per day.
  • Upgrade works include widening the motorway to 3 lanes, reconfiguring major interchanges and providing off-road pedestrian and cycle path access.
